Exhibition BIO 25: Associated projects

Certain plants, known as hyper-accumulators, are particularly good at absorbing heavy metals such as zinc, copper and nickel from the soil, and accumulating these metals in their leaves. The accumulated metals can be extracted by harvesting the plants’ leaves and burning the biomass, a process called phyto-mining. more »

The Articulum Furniture

The furniture collection Articulum was designed in 1952 by Edvard Ravnikar and Jurij Jenšterle, then a graduate student of architecture. Ravnikar patented a wood joint that enabled the assembling and disassembling of different furniture elements without any professional help whatsoever. more »
